After your family and friends, food probably comes second on the list of things you miss the most from your home country. I can almost bet to find some food items in your luggage when you travel back to your “adopted” country where you reside now 😉 … Alright, as some of you might know, I was born and raised in Russia and I still travel there twice a year … and I do admit to bring back a couple of food items that I don’t find in Germany.  Actually I stuff my luggage with Russian food not because I miss it so much…but because I just want to make my grandma happy ;-).  So here is what’s in my luggage when coming back from Russia.
1.Tea
I mean real tea, not tea bags…but tasty imported to Russia Indian tea 😉
2. Buckwheat
It is very rare in Germany, you might get it at a local bioladen…but good luck with the taste ;-(
3. Russian Oatmeal cookies
As a kid it was my favourite healthy treat I would always carry with me whenever I’d go…and I still can’t seem to get rid of this habit.
4. Adzhika
It is a kind of hot pepper, very spicy salsa, originally from Georgia. Whatever its origin, it is my favourite and goes well with everything… just like the DILL 😉
5. Dried by my grandmother DILL
DILL, DILL and more DILL ….it almost goes well with everything. Sure, you find it here, but hey how can I resist to the DILL my grandmother gathered from her Datcha (summer house – ed.) and dried especially for me 😉
6. Dried Fish or Seafood
It goes very well with beer… some sort of Russian potato chips 😉
7. Vodka …
Hey!!! This one is obviously a gift for my friends…. 😉
